Initially training as a coach and coaching supervisor Robert went on to train as an NLP Practitioner and hypnotherapist.

He worked for 10 years with the Animas Centre for Coaching, delivering the Certificate in Group Coaching and co-creating the Certificate in Youth Coaching, with Animas Founder Nick Bolton, before becoming a regular trainer on the Diploma in Transformational Coaching course, then Head of Coaching and finally Centre Director.

His main methodology is as a narrative focused coach, using both narrative structures and the body to explore the underlying stories that may keep us stuck or the narratives that are needed to move us forward. He is also influenced by the work of existential coaching.

In supervision his main methodologies are the supervision triangle and 7 eyed model.

Robert currently delivers Introduction to Coaching Skills, is a part of Performance Coach and
Facilitation team, designs and delivers leadership development programmes and continues to expand his own coaching and supervision practice, in collaboration with JBEC and selected professional partners.

Robert’s background prior to coaching included working with young people in schools, nurseries, and in higher education. He has worked on degrees at several universities; running a module in Theatre and Education at Essex University, as well as contributing work to Anglia Ruskin's Masters in Education and the Arts.

As a trained actor specialising in theatre and education, he has worked collaboratively with, and in, numerous theatres and arts venues and partnerships.
